Everything has a price, and the price of life is work and pain, though there is joy to be found if you look hard enough. I’m not religious (unless Taoism and Nietzschean philosophy count), but my childhood in the USSR was a powerful learning experience.
There is no nirvana this side of the grave. Those who try hardest to avoid pain, often suffer more and longer. My mother took this road. Her fate is truly worse than death, though she fears that most of all.
I’ll accept what the day brings, though it’s really more resignation than anything. I always learn new things, and maybe some of it won’t suck…
