Spot on! People don’t put much thought into why they want to be with someone. Perhaps they don’t want to think so much about it, fearing that they may reach the same conclusion as you did. So often I get enquiries, concerned questions, even outright (and unsolicited) advice on settling down in a relationship/marriage. The main reason these people use: loneliness. But I’ve seen couples who also feel lonely at times. It’s a human condition we can hardly escape. So this doesn’t strike me as a good enough reason to be in a relationship.
