Interesting views. Creating the empathetic relationship that you mention is perhaps the best way to embed Asimov’s Zero-th Law (Valuing Humanity).

But then there is a view that suggests that such learning of empathy and other human traits cannot be codified. It has to be learned experientially, like a child does. And so can only be accelerated so much, or replicated in limited fashion.

On a slightly tangential thought : a key milestone on the way to singularity, is establishing what does personal identity mean. Identity of the human being and any AI that interfaces.
