Why does a corporate presentation need infographics
Today, books have almost become extinct i.e. content heavy stuff as a mode for information transfer is not used much, or rather, not favoured. People don’t really prefer to read content heavy texts, as it intimidates them. The close spaced alphabets, the small sized font, long sentences, basically too many words! And, who would want to invest so much time in something that can rather be viewed! That is also one of the major reasons why there is so much graphical & pictorial content available on the internet. Pictorial and graphical content is not only pretty to look at, but also easy to comprehend.
Also, it is a proven fact that our brain comprehends images faster than text. The combination of those vibrant colour, eye catching graphics, fancy typography and fonts, is not easy on the eye but also, faster to be understand. That is the thing about text, no matter at speed you read, there is always something that slips off. But, with images, it just photographs itself in your brain and becomes easier to recall. That, is probably one of the major reasons, so as to why has there been an increase in the usage of infographics.

Infographics, are step ahead of your regular colourful graphics. They not only supplement and complement information but also function as the sources of information themselves. They are the new fun and compact method of providing the information. Infographics today apart from being used on the internet are also used frequently and freely in the corporate presentations. They not only make the presentation less content heavy but also, add a dash of colour and an element of liveliness in the presentation. They are often used to provide breaks in the presentation and offer sufficient emphasis on a point.
Infographics, today have moved away from their previous avatar of being restricted to Venn diagrams and Gantt charts. And, today can be made into a jazzed up animated infographic. Animated infographics, are in fact a rage today. Unlike their previous versions, they cannot be created using the amateur Microsoft Word or Excel. They require training and a specific software. They are highly attractive and convey information in a manner that it gets impressed on to our brains. Animated infographics are, animated versions of the content, which can be, information, data and statistics and is conveyed via a blend of words and images. The benefits that these infographic videos have is that they, add dimensions of motion and an audio track, allowing for music, voiceovers and sound effects, which is extremely attractive. Plus, it also facilitates better and thorough understanding for auditory and visual learners.
Also, apart from creating an animated infographic, you can also create an interactive infographic. These, unlike animated infographics, which require a specific skill set and learning, can be created by various web applications. These facilitate faster learning due to its high level of user friendliness and are often used for educational purposes.
So go ahead, break away from the regular black and white presentations and spice up your contents, with a visual and informational infographic.
