This summer Xbox is gifting us a sale — with tons of games on the list to buy, here I’ll be going through the top games on the list and a brief highlight of other games you might want to try. The sale itself is available to Xbox players until the 31st of July and gives us some pretty big cuts to the prices of a lot of games. 500 games are on the list at varying discounts up to 90%, including indie, AA and even some AAA games.

One of the main games at a low price is Obsidian Entertainments The Outer Worlds. Usually costing £49.99, you can now pick up this award winning RPG for just £12.49; saving you a whopping £37.50. This first person action role play is set in a alternative future where in 1901 U.S president William McKinley was not assassinated. Your character, (which you can customize), can unlock a ship which serves as the games central hub. The Outer World has dialogue options that allows the player to choose their response: moronically, maniacally or heroically. Your choices shape the story branch, so choose carefully! Along the way you can also recruit NPCs as companions who offer their own stories, missions and special attacks. If you don’t know whether to commit to a full purchase of the game, The Outer Worlds is also available to those who own the Game Pass.

The next much anticipated game Dying Light 2: Stay Human, now priced at £40.19, is also a must on this sale list. The sequel to the first post apocalyptic series that's set in a world teeming with those infected with the Harran virus, you play as a pilgrim looking for his sister; searching what's lefts of humanities settlements. Using a huge expanse of 200+ weapons, 20+ weapon mods and a list of learnable power moves you must master combat and parkour in order to survive Villedor. Dying Light 2 allows you to play with up to 3 other friends as you explore the city to find loot and secrets. Like the first game the sequel implements a day/night cycle that impacts the AI of the zombies you fight. While day-time shies the infected into buildings and dark-zones it allows players an easier time exploring and assisting those in need; however, at night-time the hordes come out to play making supply runs, hunting for weapons and looting extremely difficult. Night-time also poses a risk to the player, if you stay out too long at night you risk turning into one of the infected yourself. The player must also make tough moral decisions and face consequences as their choices impacts the story and environment.

Also making an appearance is Destiny 2: Witch Queen for £20.99. This major expansion to the FPS is one of the highest rated games this year on all platforms. It allows players to take the base game to the next level allowing a blissful mix of challenge and reward. Introducing a rework of Void subclasses and weapon crafting it gives the player a lot to change and experiment with and shows us that crafting is a main section of the game. Destiny 2 itself is free on the Xbox store and allows players to take on challenging missions solo or in co-op and even a variety PvP. Choose your class from Titans, Warlocks or Hunters and use your elemental abilities and gear to defend the last city humanity has in a solar system of villains.

Other new games on the list are Tiny Tinas Wonderland for £44.99 and Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga at £37.49. Now these may not seem like big cuts but that is because these are relatively new games the same as Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin priced at £41.99. So with this in mind the older games on the list have the bigger reductions to their prices. Titles like We Happy Few, Agents of Mayhem and the XCOM 2 Collection are all 90% of their original prices, the highest price cut this sale offers. An honourable mention for those football lovers is FIFA 22 at £8.99 on Xbox One; however, this game is also available for free on the Xbox Game Pass in the EA titles section.

So, in short, definitely take a look at the Xbox Ultimate Sale this summer because there are so many great deals to keep the extra change in your banks.
