I’ve read a book, where one ceramics teacher divided his class into 2 groups
First group would be graded only on the QUANTITY of work.
Second group would rely only on the QUALITY of work.
For the “Quantity” group, members must create 50 pounds of pots to earn an “A” grade.
For the “Quality” group, only one perfect pot is required to achieve an “A” grade.
If you had to choose between the two groups, which one
would you pick?
At the grading time, a curious fact emerged:
Pots of highest quality were produced by the first group.
Waait, what?!
While, the 1st group kept trying and learning from mistakes,
the 2nd “quality” group just theorised about perfection.
Getting your hands dirty faster is much better than spending time thinking about the perfect way to do it.
My advice: Keep practicing and don’t look for the “perfect” way because it doesn’t exist.
At alll…
