International Internships for Indian Undergraduate Students

International Internship possibilities for Indian undergraduate students, primarily in the engineering profession, have been collated.

1. Working Internships in Science and Engineering (WISE) by DAAD

The program is aimed at Indian students studying science and engineering who want to complete a research internship at a publicly funded German university or research facility.

2. LIGO CalTech

The Caltech SURF program, which is open to students from any university, is a student research/internship program offered by the LIGO Laboratory.

3. Summer@EPFL

International students can apply for summer fellowships at the École Polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne’s (EPFL) School of Computer and Communication Sciences. Participants will acquire hands-on experience and learn new abilities in their chosen profession while cooperating with top senior experts.

4. A*STAR Singapore SIPGA

The Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award (SIPGA) supports short-term research attachments for top international students at A*STAR, providing you with the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant scientific environment of A*STAR Research Institutes and Consortia, as well as work with eminent and world-renowned researchers.

5. ETH Student Summer Research Fellowship

The Student Summer Research Fellowship is offered by the Computer Science Department at ETH Zurich to help undergraduate and graduate students to get research experience over the summer months.

6. CVC Barcelona Internship

It is intended for students who are in the final year of their Engineering degree program. The CVC provides these students with a research setting that will be their first encounter with a research problem. Undergraduate students from all over the world are encouraged to apply for internships at the CVC. The interns will be guided by CVC researchers and will participate in a research project aimed at acquiring skills in current computer vision trends. Students will be able to enhance their education and research training through complementary mentorship activities.

7. CERN Openlab Summer Student Program

The CERN openlab summer students will work with some of the most cutting-edge hardware and software technologies, as well as see how modern IT solutions are employed in high-energy physics, for nine weeks (June-August 2022). In addition to the main lecture series for CERN summer students, the students will attend a series of lectures created for them by CERN computing professionals. The program also includes visits to accelerators and experimental locations.

8. ISTership Austria

ISTA’s ISTernship program is open to outstanding bachelor’s and master’s students. Applicants should be interested in basic research in biology, computer science, data science & scientific computing, mathematics, physics, neuroscience, chemistry & materials, and multidisciplinary topics.

9. SURP Summer Research@CUHK

Summer Undergraduate Research Programme (SURP) allows undergraduate students from international universities to participate in eight-week research attachments at CUHK throughout the summer. Students will conduct research under the supervision of a CUHK faculty member and will receive three credits if they complete the program successfully. SURP will be provided virtually in the summer of 2022, allowing students to participate in the program without having to leave their homes.

10. Research in Industrial Projects for Students (RIPS)

The Research in Industrial Projects for Students (RIPS) program allows talented undergraduates studying math, computer science, and related fields to collaborate on real-world research projects submitted by a business or government sponsors. Each student team will research the topic and present the results orally and in writing at the end of the program, with the help of their academic mentor and industrial mentor.

11. ITRI Global Internship Program

Accepted interns MUST be able to produce documentary evidence of student status from their university for the duration of the internship. Candidates must have a passport from a country other than Taiwan that is valid (ROC). Summer interns should be available for at least 10 weeks from May to September. Internships lasting 4–6 months are available throughout the year.

13. Aalto Science Institute AScI internship program

The Aalto Science Institute’s worldwide summer research (internship) program provides bachelor’s and master’s students with the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research, interact with Aalto University’s top research groups, and network in a global setting. The internships are open to students from all countries to support AScI’s role in internationalization. This unique summer experience in Finland is enhanced with cultural and social events.

14. DESY Summer Student Program

Each summer, DESY invites undergraduate students interested in physics or related natural science areas to engage in the laboratory’s research operations in Hamburg or Zeuthen (near Berlin).

15. MCQST Summer Student Program

The MCQST Summer Bachelor Program allows undergraduate students from all around the world to learn about Quantum Science and Technology (QST) research at MCQST and its cooperating institutes.

16. Robotics Insitute Summers Scholars (RISS)

The Robotics Institute Summer Scholars (RISS) program at CMU invites undergraduate students from more than 50 nations to take part in an 11-week research immersion. You’ll visit robotics labs and learn about different themes, interact with industry experts, attend workshops, be coached and mentored, present and publish your research, and develop as a scholar.

This article is designed only for eligible Indian students, ideally in the subject of computer science; this blog filters out most of the unnecessary international internships that are not intended for Indian students.
