Getting Ready for an Adventure

For about a year last week I’ve been working two jobs. Almost daily. Going through the hell of trying to achieve financial security under the belief that it would allow me to get involved I areas I want to be a part of. And I think I’ve finally had enough.

An honest conversation last week with my boss at my deli job let out how miserable I am with my life. Within two days I was approved for a weeks vacation, unpaid since I’ve only been full-time since January. My other job, working at a kitchen in a bar, has been slow enough where I can afford to be gone for a week without much fuss.

For the first time in a year I finally get to have an adventure my mind and body has been craving.

I’m going to bike from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C.

I have no idea how it’s going to all be paid for: the food, where I will sleep, my rent and all the stuff But I’m not worried about that. Everything will come together with proper planning and determination.

As I write this I just dropped my bike off for a tune up and parts for the 322 mile bike ride.

$200 down.

Let’s see how this all works out.
