Social media is a phrase that we throw around a lot these days, often to describe what we post on sites and apps like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and others.

But simply and purely, social media is the current state of the Internet.

Social media can be one of your most successful marketing channels, but only if you do it right. Just being active on social media isn’t enough — there is a lot of noise you need to break through if you want to find success.

These platforms have the potential to reach further than any offline channel. As a result, they have become the number one choice for savvy marketeers. They are the perfect tools to engage with stakeholders, increase brand awareness, drive traffic to a website and generate a buzz around your business.

  • Social media has a 100% higher lead-to-close rate than outbound marketing
  • 74% of consumers rely on social media to make purchasing decisions
  • Shoppers who view targeted video content are 1.81X more likely to purchase than non-viewers
  • Clicks from shared content are 5x more likely to result in a purchase

One size doesn’t fit all!

Signing up to every social media channel you can think of is not the solution to your digital marketing challenges. Should you do it however? YES, YOU SHOULD!!

With the world increasingly doing business online, your interactions with customers on social media platforms are a reflection of your customer service style. So, you have to get it right. You also shouldn’t waste too much of your time on platforms where your customers or stakeholders are not spending time. You need to be able to build a strong content base and create a dialogue (not just broadcasting a message) on the channels most valuable to you. You must be committed to adding relevant, value-adding content on a regular basis and engaging in a conversation.

Frequency and context is KING. The creative is the only variable!
