The Second Annual Blockchain Gameshow

🌟 Do you want to be the best campus in blockchain? Are you ready to showcase your blockchain prowess to the world? 🌟

Don’t worry, we are back again with BEN’s most awaited event of the year.

Introducing…

Blockchain Madness 2017: Powered by MLG Blockchain.

Blockchain Madness is an annual cross-campus competition to prove which student group knows the most about bitcoin and blockchain. We chose the month of march to host the event because we want our students to be seen as BEN all-stars, in a similar fashion to basketball players who compete in March Madness.

We believe there’s no better opportunity to test one’s blockchain knowledge than competing with other students in the space. 🙋🏻

At BEN, we’ve always believed that by gamifying blockchain education we can motivate students to push for paradigm shifts in their local communities. Through Blockchain Madness, we’re applying the same model to engage student clubs in competitive learning.

This year, we have 10 schools across the US and Canada, and 2 international teams from Netherlands and Taiwan who will be competing head-to-head in three different conferences. The winning team of each conference will then all compete in a three-way final match to determine the winner.

Similar to last year’s event, each match will have three categories of five questions (much like Jeopardy). Teams will have the opportunity to pick questions until they get one wrong, after which the opposing team is able to steal the question and then the opportunity to pick questions is passed off. There are two “DISRUPT” tiles that introduce unknown elements into the game to help a losing team catch up or a winning team secure a victory. The last tile is the “Last Chance,” where teams are able to wager as many points as they have before they see the question.

Check out the bracket for Blockchain Madness 2017:

US

GA Tech vs MIT | UC Berkeley vs Univ of Florida | Wake Forest vs RIT

Canada

Ivey vs Laurier | McGill vs University of Toronto

International

National Taiwan Normal University vs BEN Netherlands

The winners of Blockchain Madness 2017 😎 will be receiving 1 Bitcoin as a prize and will be named the “Best campus in Blockchain”. Huge shout out to MLG Blockchain for title sponsoring the event. We also thank Unsung, Distributed ID, and MicroJasa for their kind support.

Be sure to join the livestream on the Blockchain Education Network YouTube channel. Trivia questions will be posted throughout the event to the BEN Twitter page, with a prize awarded to the individual who gets the most answers correct.
