A Poem About Time

Dedicated to lost memories, and the people with whom they were made.

Time, o Time! How I hate thee!

So heartlessly must you flow?

Great Vanquisher of Memories!

On & onward must you go?

No memory will you leave untouched;

No beauty will you not debase;

No scene will you spare your vicious brush;

No whisper, or laughing face.

One moment to cherish is all I ask!

But I ask only in vain;

What fleeting joy could ever last

When you have me thus enchained.

Pray tell me, Time… what am I guilty of?

That with every passing breath,

You bear away all I ever loved

and bring me closer to my death.
