The Clock is Ticking on Comcast’s Plan to Take Over Online Video
Susan Crawford

Good story, but . . .

Imagine coupling Comcast’s XFINITY plan with their overall desire to meter the amount of data customers download per month. Comcast has an opportunity to dominate regardless of position. Because the FCC plans will not change “last-mile” unbundling, customers will not have an opportunity to change providers using similar technology. The FCC has also stated they will not regulate rates or service. Bandwidth caps are currently being tested at around 300 Gb per month in certain markets. (Including mine!) Overage charges then apply. What do you think will happen when 4K content becomes the standard for television viewing? (Cha-Ching!)
