I connect with this so much because I have that feeling all the time. I try to tell my family that receiving an MFA doesn’t mean anything in terms of writing because it’s the basis to a secure career as a professor. However, you make some really good points. You do have to be consistent with writing well in order to have the audience and income. It takes time. But, the greatest thing about it is that when you have it all then you know that you did your work regardless of having a MFA.
