Yes! There are cities like this where being black has been, since the foundation, a problem and it still resonates today. I live in Richmond and I hate it so much because black are limited in the ares where they can live, work, and create a life for themselves. Gentrification is deeper than just whites moving into neighborhoods, it is the act of taking away lives from the blacks. A life is more than just breathing, it is having the ability to leave the house, work, play, and be educated.
