Listening to today’s episode of Ear Biscuits where you guys discuss this post, and I raced over here to leave a comment.

Full disclosure, I’m through and through a mythical beast. I love GMM and what you guys do, and I watch a lot of y’alls content. With the size of the platform you guys have, I think it’s really important to use that for good means and I’m so glad to hear that you see this as a responsibility.

To be honest though, I used to get a little frustrated at the lack of acknowledgment regarding the current state of our country I saw from you and Link . However, lately I’ve been trying to make a little more time for entertainment that doesn’t revolve around politics, because I’m feeling a little overwhelmed with all of the info, people and events. I don’t think it’s fair the way that a lot of fans try and deny their media personalities an opinion. You guys are just as capable as we are in forming your own opinions, comprehending media output and making intentional choices about what you do and don’t choose to share. I just really wanted to comment and say how proud I am to be a fan of yours — even though your content doesn’t always address politics in this way, I know you guys are thinking about how you can contribute to the ongoing conversation.

That said, this article was short & succinct — and I think it just goes to show how things can change, even when you are surrounded by this kind of atmosphere. I grew up in a conservative home, and I think it’s important for liberals and conservatives alike to understand the way the political parties are actually connected, rather than divided. Maybe if we took the time to understand each other before making assumptions, we might actually get somewhere.
