Giftlock transforms e-Gifting into a fun and social experience by allowing gift senders to “wrap” their online gifts in interactive games. Gift recipients play to unlock their gifts and special store offers.

Online stores that integrate with GiftLock generate increased revenue via massive user engagement and up-sell. The founders of GiftLock came up with the idea for their company during a creativity workshop in the Upstart Entrepreneurship Program at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya. “We connected two seemingly unrelated ideas — riddles and gifts, which led to our idea for GiftLock — allowing people to send gifts wrapped in games,” explains Aviv Sheriff, one of the founders of GiftLock.

Sheriff says that one of their goals for the next few months includes testing a couple of different go-to-market strategies for GiftLock, such as their original e-Gifting idea and email marketing with games. GiftLock also wishes to prove that they can create “greater engagement than existing solutions and then use [their] MVP to generate first revenues, pre-funding.”

*Fun Fact- Sheriff is an avid gamer and has even played in professional cash-prize competitions against the best gamers in the world.
