Welcome to the Sigma Cross-Chain Bridge (BSC) User Guide, where we will take you on a journey to effortlessly transfer your tokens between the IOST Mainnet and the BSC Mainnet. Get ready to explore the world of multichain interoperability as we provide you with a step-by-step process to utilize the Sigma Cross-Chain Bridge.
This tutorial is primarily focused on the smooth cross-chain utilization between the IOST and BSC networks.For comprehensive instructions on utilizing the Sigma Cross-Chain Bridge for transfers between the IOST and Ethereum networks, alongside essential tools for IOST Swap, please refer to the IOST Swap User Guide:
1. Getting ready for the Multichain
To embark on your journey, ensure you unlock your iWallet and MetaMask wallets, then log in to your BSC account.
- Proceed to visit the Sigma official website: https://sigmabridge.xyz
- Logging in to your IOST mainnet account on the Sigma website, iWallet will seamlessly facilitate the process.
- Click “Bridge-BSC,” MetaMask will request authorization.
- Refresh the website to successfully access the Sigma official website through iWallet and MetaMask wallets, where you’ll be presented with your wallet account name and balance.
To switch between the IOST Mainnet and the BSC Mainnet, access the following list by clicking the top right corner [IOST Mainnet] button.
For those who are not familiar with iWallet or MetaMask wallets, here are some guides to both services:
2. Token Bridging
- Once connected, the system defaults to initiating the transfer of IOST from the IOST mainnet (IRC20) to BSC’s Wrapped IOST on the BSC network. Should you require an alternative sender’s mainnet, feel free to adjust it to cater to your specific needs.
- Once you have selected the amount to transfer, direction, and token, the exchange page will present the relevant information for the final verification. Please double-check the details with utmost care.
- After confirming the information, proceed by clicking the [Process] button to initiate the transaction seamlessly.
- Upon clicking the “Process” button, a “Confirmation” page will be displayed, where you shall diligently review the details:
- If the information is correct, click [Confirm Transaction] to proceed with your cross-chain transaction request.
- Upon the successful initiation of the transaction request, a contract authorization prompt from iWallet will appear. Please verify the details and click [Confirm] to execute the cross-chain transaction.
- Once confirmed, a link to the cross-chain transaction will emerge in the top right corner. Follow this link to track the progress of your cross-chain transfer.
- After a brief moment, a popup window will notify you of the successful completion of the transaction
- The corresponding amount should now reflect in your BSC wallet balance.
Thus concludes the process of your cross-chain transfer from the IOST network to the BSC network. In the event of cross-chaining from the BSC network back to the IOST network, just switch the source chain and follow the same process.
3. Important Notes
- In the event that you have successfully installed iWallet and MetaMask but encounter challenges connecting your BSC wallet to the Sigma Cross-Chain Bridge, kindly verify the absence of other potentially conflictive extensions extensions, which may inadvertently intercept connection requests from Sigma.
- When cross-chaining from the BSC network to the IOST network, ensure your BSC account retains a small amount of BNB for paying gas fees. The cost depends solely on the congestion level of the BSC network. When cross-chaining from the IOST network to the BSC network, no gas fees are required.
- If the contract authorization encounter challenges when cross-chaining from the IOST network to the BSC network, ensure that your IOST account possesses sufficient gas resources.
- Stake IOST to earn iGAS (free). Upon no longer necessitating iGAS, unstake the corresponding amount of IOST without incurring any actual cost.
