Signal Festival 2018 starts tomorrow! What should you know before heading to the festival? Read on!

The festival kicks off tomorrow at 7pm with the opening ceremony at Karlínské náměstí. As in the previous years, it will last for 4 nights from Thursday till Sunday. Each night at 7:00–11:00 pm you may experience Prague streets illuminated with light and art. Installations within the Gallery Zone are the exceptions since they are open at 7pm till midnight. At three routes, you may expect 20 installations made by foreign and mainly Czech artists. Furthermore, you may enjoy two satellite installations or our off program as well.

Where to go?
After the opening ceremony at Karlín Square, hit the streets! You may choose from 3 routes — Karlín, Centrum and Vinohrady. 1,5 hour is a sufficient time period for the new route Karlín; the route Centrum and Vinohrady will take approximately 2,5 hours each. You need to have enough time for the installation within the Gallery Zone. Please view detailed program at the website in the section Program. Video mappings will lead you to Vinohrady and Karlín

You can look forward to the video mapping on the Church of St. Ludmila on náměstí Míru. Thanks to our main partner Mercedes-Benz, you will be able to participate in a countdown! Just go to before the start of the mapping and shoot your own fuel particle.


Do not miss a 3D video mapping in Kasárna Karlín from Basque Hotaru Visual Guerrilla. You won’t get bored in between mappings because we have prepared for you a short projection created in collaboration with internationally acclaimed Czech graphic artist Míla Fürstová for the 145th anniversary of Mattoni. ​

What do you need?

The festival is mostly free of charge, you need to have only a good mood and a feeling for walking. All routes of SIGNAL festival have all together over 6 kilometres. You may buy a festival paper map at our volunteers at every installation or at our infopoints at náměstí Republiky, the Old Town Square, náměstí Míru and Karlín square for CZK 30. Eventually it is available at our mobile app for CZK 25 (in the Android and iOS version). The map will guide you through the festival and you may find in it a lot of useful information.

At the infopoints, you may purchase souvenirs or tickets to the Signal Festival Gallery Zone. This year, it includes 5 installations — at the Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace, the Mirror Chapel of Klementinum, the Clam-Gallas Palace, the Hauch Gallery and Bar/ák. You may purchase the tickets for the reduced price in advance here and later just exchange them for a wristband at some of the spots of the Gallery Zone. With the wristband, you may enter all 5 locations of the Gallery Zone. Wristbands may be purchased also on the spot — at all locations of the Gallery Zone during the whole festival for CZK 170.

If you want to view 3D videomapping at Kasárna Karlín, you need to buy 3D glasses prior to the entrance for CZK 50. Children up to 6 years have the admission free of charge.

Where to buy refreshment?
There are 6 refreshment zones at the festival routes. It is in particular at náměstí Míru, náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad, Karlínské náměstí as well as in Sady Svatopluka Čecha, Riegerovy Sady and by TJ Sokol Vinohrady. Stands and foodtrucks will provide a wide range of quality food, bars will offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including beer from the Staropramen brewery. All zones will be open at 7:00–11:00 pm.

We have a surprise for you! This year we have engaged with Zátiší Group and created a unique NEON FOOD LOUNGE for you with illuminated refreshment and drinks both for youngsters and adults. You may taste UV donuts, candy floss, panna cotta, macarons or ice-cream. Bubble lemonade, gin&tonic or prosecco with passion fruit UV caviar will quench your thirst. All of these are available at the restaurant Žofín Garden on Slovanský Island each festival night at 5:00–11:00 pm!
