Where 0xFellaz Came From
0xFellaz initially started as an 0x Derivative of the DeadFellaz original project. This movement became very popular and famous once the Bored Ape Derivative 0xApes came out and made it possible for smaller accounts and newbies to get into the NFT space.
Timeline
The 0xFellaz project was going extremely well and was on the path to success after the presale sold out in 14 minutes. However, knowing the space and wanting to respect the original project, we reached out to the founders of DeadFellaz to get their approval on the continuance of the project, when we were hit with a negative response.
Even though the artwork was totally deconstructed, regenerated, and made sure that there are no duplicates of the original project, and an addition of the Yellow Backgrounds, we were starting to see the DeadFellaz team taking action, We were right away hit with a letter from the hosting company that the website needed to be taken down due to copyright infringement issues, so we took the website down.
On OpenSea, we were also hit with a DMCA which essentially said we were doing a copy of a collection, however, this was not the case as we had regenerated everything and there were NO duplicated. We were also taken down from OpenSea.
Result
Out of respect for the DeadFellaz project and the NFT space as a whole, we decided to put a stop to the project and refund everyone who minted their NFT from our website. We had made sure that every single wallet got the refund, and with this, we were able to prove to the community that we love and support them and appreciate them for supporting us throughout this wild journey.
