TikTok primarily targets the Gen Z and it is scaling even faster due to COVID. App Annie says certain lockdown markets have seen an increase of 30% of app usage and TikTok is certainly going to be affected as people are stuck at home and look for quick entertainment fixes.

According to Music Business Worldwide, there is an 18% increase in downloads, and TikTok was downloaded two million times between 16th and 22nd March, Sensory Tower reported. The app also saw an increase of 27% in the first 23 days of March compared to its previous month with 6.2 million downloads.

We previously wrote about why TikTok is so successful (or the algorithm of addiction) and are continually looking into the platform as it becomes more and more important for marketers.

Research by Influencer Marketing Hub across 100,000 user-profiles showed TikTok has also the highest engagement in comparison to Facebook and Instagram.

As per our previous efforts in identifying 5 Best Affordable Influencer Marketing Platforms and 5 Free Influencer Marketing Platforms, we looked at the same criteria:

  1. How easy to find the right influencers to work with?
  2. Is the website or tool user-friendly?
  3. What sets them apart from competitors?
  4. How can we measure campaign performance?
  5. How much does it cost?

So, let’s jump right to it!

Disclaimer: The BrandHero rating is a subjective score based purely on our authentic personal experience. We have 0 incentives to promote one platform over another and look at this from a marketer’s perspective.

1. Popsters

Popsters can analyze up to 10 social profiles at a time and provide an in-depth analysis of the posts with charts of activities by dates and engagements.

Pros:

  • In-depth analysis for marketers to gauge potential reach and brand awareness.
  • Can analyze more than 1 profile at a time.
  • It provides engagement rates by hashtags.
  • Able to analyze and churn out reports either by all-time or a specific period of time.
  • Free to analyze all users on TikTok.

Cons:

  • It is only searchable by URL, hashtags, or caption at the moment.
  • This tool is not able to find similar influencers which make it hard to discover new influencers to work with.

Best features:

  • Being able to compare up to 10 profiles at one time eases marketers’ burden in comparing the profiles one at a time. That being said, it is great to compare potential influencers’ profiles before choosing to work with them.
  • Responsive charts.

Pricing:

It is completely free to analyze TikTok profiles (for now). If you need other platforms then pricing starts from USD 9.99 per month which is great value for money.

BrandHero rating:

4/5

2. Pentos

Pentos pride themselves in TikTok campaign monitoring where it provides you a dashboard to monitor your TikTok campaigns by the user, hashtag, song, and/or video.

Pros:

  • Pentos is the only platform that allows you to track campaigns based on songs and videos rather than just users or hashtags.

Cons:

  • Unlike other tools we’ve reviewed, Pentos do not have real-time data. The data refreshes every day at 6 pm GMT. Then once you click the “analyze” button it asks you to come back tomorrow — such a bummer.

Best features:

  • Being able to track songs or videos is an incredibly useful feature as TikTok revolves around the “challenge” structure and categorizes content based on songs as well other than hashtags.

Pricing:

The starting price for Pentos is relatively low at €5/month but you can only be able to track one profile/hashtag/song/video. If you’re tracking a group of influencers then you’ll need to go for the €99/month subscription.

In all honesty, if you want to just track users or hashtags then those specific features seem to be commoditized and free of charge.

BrandHero rating:

2/5

3. Clout Meter

Clout Meter is another platform that offers to analyze TikTok profiles. They offer growth statistics which is a pretty neat feature to identify the authenticity of the influencer.

Pros:

  • Day-to-day growth statistics to identify the authenticity of the profile if in doubt.
  • Future projections the user’s followers, likes and videos based on past data.

Cons:

  • Too much information that may not necessarily be important for marketers and confusing for beginners.

Best features:

  • Day-to-day growth statistics on follower count is a great way to identify the authenticity of the profile.

Pricing:

In terms of pricing, $24.99/month is affordable for most marketers to be able to get full access to the profiles’ historical data. Even with the free version, it shows a full month of historical data which is good enough to identify any recent suspicious spikes of activity.

BrandHero rating:

3.5/5

4. Melody Socials

Melody Socials is a tool specifically to search profiles on TikTok. And it is said that their database is updated in real-time, hence, it is as up-to-date as you can get.

Pros:

  • The simplicity of UI makes it easy to search similar profiles on TikTok based on your criteria.
  • Real-time database with up to date search results.

Cons:

  • The discoverability tool is great but not able to analyze profiles.

Best features:

  • Ease of use and discover new profiles.

Pricing:

We did an extensive search on different TikTok platforms and Melody Socials is still reasonable given the fact that it is the only one right now that offers real-time profiles search on TikTok.

The price starts from $199/month paid annually and $299/month paid biannually.

BrandHero rating:

4/5

5. Analisa

Analisa offers five key features in their reports — 1) profile analysis, 2) follower demographics and authenticity, 3) campaign reporting, 4) content and influencer optimization, and 5) competitive analysis.

Pros:

  • Able to search by TikTok username and hashtags.
  • All important metrics of a profile are present (total likes, comments, shares, engagement rates, like rate, comment rate, and share rate).
  • Easy to digest charts.
  • Identify the most used hashtags and words from the captions on the user’s posts.

Cons:

  • No way to find similar influencers.
  • The free version only analyses 12 recent posts.

Best features:

  • We really love the simplicity of the reports and it makes understanding the information a breeze.
  • Searching by hashtags makes monitoring campaigns much easier.

Pricing:

To be able to access all of the key features Analisa promised, you have to pay a pretty hefty monthly subscription fee which is $109.55/month paid annually or $149/month paid monthly.

BrandHero rating:

3/5

TL;DR

  • When you’re starting to plan your campaign and are looking for new potential profiles, we recommend starting with Melody Socials for their superior search features.
  • If you already have a potential list of influencers to work with, and now are screening them further then use Clout Meter to make sure none of them shows suspicious behavior. Fake influencers are on the rise even with new platforms like TikTok.
  • Once you are about to kick off your campaign and want to track its performance, we would recommend going with Popsters as it provides in-depth analysis of both profiles and hashtags with responsive charts (and it’s free at the moment!).
  • If your campaign is specifically about a music track or video, then you have no choice than to use Pentos. We think their infrastructure needs a boost, but the song/video track is next to none.
