Plugin authors should probably leave z-indexing to developers implementing it, because there’s no way to know what is the highest z-index in the code.
There’s another great solution to z-indexing, it works great for me and requires even less typing.
I’ve been very guilty of leaving
TODO comments around, but I also set up ESLint’s no-warning-comments and stylelint’s comment-word-blacklist to complain about those. That way I’m at least aware of them all the time.
Great article! We should definitely try making our code more friendly towards other devs and our future selves. :)
