Empathy became a sort of a buzzword to describe anything from compassion to emotional position and it’s hard to actually pinpoint as to what people mean with their use of their word.

I have yet to read the manifesto to its end, so I’m hesitant to comment on the meaning in the context that I don’t know. However, if we’re talking about empathy in a work environment, then it has a lesser degree of importance than in social setting.

Of course, it’s not the complete absence of empathy. A person without empathy is someone with deep psychological issues. It’s understanding the behavior of men and women and how they react emotionally to situations, with women being more prone to the extremes of the emotional spectrum, which ranges from “the mother” and “the bitch,” and men having a more subtle changes in their emotional status, that usually make them seem cold and indifferent.

In the workplace, you should not be enforced to show ‘empathy’ but exhibit solidarity with your co-workers and care for your subordinates. Empathy is not really needed but is also not a hindrance.
