Trump is business savvy. Politics are stupid and counter intuitive to business.

Imagine a boardroom, filled with business man and women, taking about a product that the company launches, you mostly expects them to talk about the actions that need to be taken, what approach they need to focus on, and who are the target audience.

Politics doesn’t work that way. Take the topic of Climate Change: No one in the “Pro Climate Change” side wants to talk about any sort of action — they want to talk about the problem and once they finished with that, they want to talk about it some more. Later on, they might decide that they need a census on what color the advert should be, all the while mocking the target audience for not buying their product.

A business man primary goal is to make the company he works for successful, to show his own merits, and to have as many successes under his belt. The politician primary goal is to stay in his current position as long as he can, at times cheating his employer and company and sometimes working for the competition to rise through the ranks. The politician doesn’t think about the success of the company itself, apart from how it will benefit himself.

Of course, there are different kinds of politicians, and even if we consider Barnie Sanders that had the most stupid and dangerous ideas, at least you could give him the credit of actually believing in those ideas and imagining that they will actually help “the company.”

Trump won because he talked with the people, he treated them as his clients, as his share holders, and as an important part of the ‘company’ and his own success. This is why the mainstream media and other politicians couldn’t really touch him, up until now. He thinks differently and acts in completely unexpected ways.

The point that I’m making is that now, after being elected and actually trying to accomplish something through politics, he needs to beat the other politicians in their own game because there are too many employees who used all of their time obstructing the CEO and actively working to get him fired without hiding it. This is counter-intuitive to business. If an employee is seen trying to destroy the company or its CEO, he will get fired immediately and his career put to an abrupt end.

Politics will benefit the employee and will award him for doing so.

So yes, Trump has a good understanding of business, something he worked years to accomplish but now, to make his tenure a success, he needs to win in politics.
