Words have meanings. The meaning change and morph because society changes and morphs and at times words disappear completely from the public consciousness. ‘Values’ is not one of those words. Standards and principals didn’t change to virtue-signaling and hypocrisy, as you suggest in this piece.

Values are the standards and principals you govern yourself by and how they define you in the group or society and how the society itself mimics those values back at you. You have no values. You have no principals. You have no standards. You are just a person who has no qualms beating up a homeless man who’s dying of hunger, just so you could turn around and cry about the bad people who could be so deplorable to beat that poor homeless man and take his food away.

You assert that the US has no values because the way the country is governed does not align with your personal virtue-signaling preferences. Because it’s now popular to mock the US. It’s easy. It’s safe.

The values you hold so dear helped murdered millions, they helped create homelessness and death, it helped create misery. That doesn’t matter to you because, in your utopia, everyone is miserable and they do it together. They do it as a community.

Europe is now in decline and might crash completely in the next 20 years because they created systems that drain resources without creating systems that create more resources. Some parts of Europe are so guilty and miserable for events perpetrated by people who died long ago, that they will kill themselves instead of protecting their own values and asserting their own morals.

Europe doesn’t represent heaven. It represents hell.
