Criteria to Evaluate the Credibility of WWW Resources

The aspect of the article that hit me right off the bat was the point in the article where it says,”Though many search engines rank material according to their idea of what is relevant, that doesn’t mean the material is relevant to what you want or is reliable.” Often times I believe that what Google uses is the most reliable, best information I can find. I don’t often go off of the first search page, and I probably should so I can find the best information.

The amount of questions I should take a look at as well were surprising me, because often times I do not consider that many questions when I look at a website. I don’t look to see if the author is biased or if she is taking a personal stand. I also don’t often look to whether her information is credible.

The last thing I learned was about deconstructing web pages. I often could guess why the words in the URL were there, and I knew they played a purpose, but I did not know deconstructing them would help some much information become available. Reading the article, I know realize that a lot of information can come from the URL, like credibility, reasons, and much more about the website.
