Today we are happy to announce the launch of the Shiden Network Builders Program! The main objective of the builders program is to help further the growth, development, and adoption of the Shiden Network by supporting teams that are building on Shiden. The program is headed by Stake Technologies with guidance from Parity Technologies under the Builders for Builders initiative.
Why are we doing this?
Our goal has always been to become a community (DAO) owned blockchain and in order to achieve that, we as the core team, are responsible for laying the foundations of the future that we envision.
The builders program is the first of many community initiatives where we want you, members of our community, to be as involved as possible! By introducing more transparency in our processes and encouraging more interactions between the different stakeholders, we want to foster an environment where individuals feel empowered, encouraged, and safe to share their opinions. Moreover, we also want to ensure that what we do is always aligned with the community’s best interest at heart.
In terms of token distribution, we reserved a total of 10% (7,000,000 SDN tokens) for the development of the protocol. Part of this 10% will be used to fund projects in the builders program that have delivered on their milestones.
Who and what are we looking for?
There are no restrictions as to who can(not) apply but to improve your chances of getting in, your team should fulfill at least some of these criteria:
- a technically competent team that is transparent and ambitious
- has the community’s best interest at heart
- building something the community wants

Why build on Shiden instead of other smart contract parachains?
Many people have experienced the paradox of choice, for example, what idea to build, what chain to build on, what tools to use, etc. and we understand that sometimes it is hard to make the “correct” choice.
