Whether you are a service-based entrepreneur or you are selling a product, the growth of your business stands and falls with the amount of sales you make. And those sales are a result of the amount of conversations or connections you have with your prospects on a daily basis.
This could mean one-on-one in person conversation or reaching a larger audience with your marketing message.
At the end of the day what it boils down to is that it’s a numbers game.
The more people you reach, the more opportunity you have to make sales.
So, your job is to fill your day and your week with conversations with the right people that are in a position to buy from you.
How do you do that?
Well, first they must become AWARE of you.
In other words, if they don’t know you exist they are never going to become your client or customer. Makes sense, right?
This is where your MARKETING comes in.
Now, there are many different ways you can market to your audience including paid advertising in different media if you have a larger budget, you can opt for publicity exposure or you can share your message organically online and offline.
But either way,
you must tell them about what it is you do and HOW you or your product can help them get the results they desire. In other words, you must speak to a specific need or problem your audience is experiencing.
To do that your MESSAGE must be DIRECT, CLEAR and CONCISE.
They have to be able to quickly and at a glance get what you can do FOR them.
And in this day and age where we are bombarded and over-saturated with messages everywhere we go and even within the privacy of our own home, this gets harder and harder.
On top of that you probably find yourself in a crowded field with many others that are trying to do the same thing meaning it can be really tough especially if you don’t have a large marketing budget at your disposal.
So, how do YOU become visible to your audience?
What can you do so they see YOU in the sea of the same old, same old where everything starts sounding and looking alike?
What is it that makes YOU stand out to them and sets you apart from everybody else in your field?
The best way to do that if you are the face of your brand, is DARING TO BE YOU and dialing up your uniqueness as your key selling points.
In other words capitalizing on your personal IT-Factor, your personality (can we all agree it’s unique), your skill set and you value system.
here is where a lot of people get tripped up.
They see others being successful by portraying a certain image or lifestyle and in their mind, they start to think that they need to do the same and then the money will start rolling in because it worked for person X.
All this does is just create more of the same, same and then you blend in
and the result …. CRICKETS!
Your goal is to STAND OUT so that your people can easily spot YOU.
So, again how do you do that?
Simply by being YOU, authentically.
The more you do YOU, the easier it becomes for the people that are meant to be working with you to SEE you and for you to connect with them.
Yes, it really is that simple but we don’t see it because we think we have to act a certain way to be liked, seen as the EXPERT and keep up with the Jones’s.
I challenge you to show up as YOU, think about how you can tap into your own UNIQUENESS and dial that up in your marketing message. Find your own voice, show us who you really are and then start connecting with your audience from this place.
This is how your message will resonate with them. This is how you build connection and this is ultimately how you ‘re going to make more sales in your business.
