Mindset is the frame of mind that makes our experience our reality, it is like a map that that help us navigate the world.

There are various mindsets that a person can have that are created by the upbringing, social interaction, education and past experiences that determine how a person can thrive or survive in the world, how a person can have healthy or unhealthy relationships with oneself first and so with others.

From various dictionaries, Mindset is defined like:

“The established set of attitudes held by someone”

As a personal development, transformational life coach and master practitioner of NLP, i like to go into the deeper structure of things.

If we break down the sentence we have the adjective “established” and the noun “attitude”

In Oxford dictionaries.com we find:

• Established: Having existed or done something for a long time and therefore recognised and generally accepted.

• Attitude: A settled way of thinking or feeling about something

A position of the body indicating a particular mental state.

From the definitions above i get that our mindset affect our body and our feelings and it is something that persist and believed to be valid and correct.

This affect the way that we show up in the world.

From the communication model of NLP this make sense, as our filtering of reality that includes mindset as well, we create a certain behaviour in response (many time in reaction) to an external event. Being something established means that it is most likely possible that our mindset make us interact with the world unconsciously before we even think about.

A question arises:

• What is the difference between Attitude and behaviour?

Attitude and behaviour are closely related, because your attitude influences your behaviour.

Attitude it is about how a person perceive things and so is based on beliefs and meaning.

In the personal development coaching programs that i use with my clients reframing the meaning that we give to things is the first step to change the person mindset.

Allowing the person to see her frames about her self esteem, social status, business, health, goals and behaviours, can change her perception of herself in the world and so her mindset.

Even if mindset it is something that is established, it can be changed transforming ones experience.

Life coaching will help you change your mindset and transform your experience in the world.
