When it comes to saving money with coupons, the biggest hurdle I’m always asked about is “Where to find coupons?”

Truth is, there are loads of places where you can save money at the click of a mouse, however, until now, they were a guarded secret only for those in the know.

To help you cross this hurdle I have put together a simple, six-step guide to where I think the best and easiest places are to find coupons so you can instantly start savings on your shopping.

1. Coupon Collection Websites

Have you ever purchased coupons from eBay or other websites? Have you been tempted to buy coupon inserts from eBay? I caution against this as many times; those are fake. Stick with a reputable site when buying inserts.

Speaking of reputable coupon sites, we could think of Retailmenot and Coupons.com. These websites are really helping us find coupons that we need instantly and easily. And they are free to use.

But if you still have problems finding those coupons for particular brands, I’d like to recommend a new upcoming coupon website Couponbirds. I’ve found coupons several times from this website. I think it has included most of the brands that we want with a huge database. I can find the latest promotion info so I believe those coupons are updated timely.

Another thing I like Couponbirds is that there’s no ads, no floating enticing advertisements in the website. I hate that kind of ads. I can also find exclusive coupons and printable coupons from Couponbirds .

2. On-product promotion

If you’ve made it to the store you still have one more opportunity to save. Keep your eyes peeled on products and advertising on shelves as these too can have coupons on them which you can take off and use with your shopping.

It is also worth checking the packaging again when you’re home as there can also be coupons inside which you can use off your shopping next time.

The expiration dates on product packaging coupons are based on the shelf life of the product, which will be longer than coupons printed online or clipped out of the newspaper. You may also have four weeks to use a coupon you found online and six months on a coupon you found on packaging. This goes for the face value as well.

3. Newspapers and magazines

Sometimes when we look through newspapers and magazines we could see inserts or coupons printed on the pages of an ad, especially from the Sunday newspaper, which is still one of the most popular sources part of finding coupons. So always look them over before you toss them.

Magazines and coupons go together like soup and sandwich, depending on the type of magazines that you buy. For example, grocery coupons are found in lifestyle and hone and garden magazines. Fashion magazines will have coupons for makeup, personal care products and retail stores.

Find coupons from newspapers and magazines may take some time, so when you run into it, don’t miss it.
