Marc Diakiese: Ready to make his mark on US soil

British lightweight star Marc Diakiese already alerted the MMA world to his talents with an impressive stoppage victory at UFC 204 in Manchester.

And on December 9 night he steps into the Octagon for his first bout on US soil when he takes on Frankie Perez at UFC Fight Night in Albany, New York.

The Brit is undefeated in 10 pro contests, with his last three coming via impressive TKO/KO stoppages.

And he faces Perez looking to add another victim to his list while gaining an army of new fans Stateside.

“I’m looking to impress the fans again,” he told me.

“I’m looking to get more fans out there, so I’ll be making sure I leave my mark and make sure everybody knows who I am.”

Diakiese defeated tough Pole Lucasz Sajewski on his debut and said post-fight that he’s always looking to impress every time he steps into the cage.

“Every time I’m going out there I’m looking for an impression,” he explained.

“I’m not here to make up the numbers. I’m going to start working towards the world title.

“I believe I’m up there with the Top 10, but I’m still young. I’m 23, I’m learning, I’m making progress, so we’ll see.

“It won’t take me long.”

Marc Diakiese takes on Frankie Perez at UFC Albany on Friday December 9, live on UFC Fight Pass.
