I do though think, that you are a bit too sceptical in regard to the effects of behaviour incentivized software.

A software cannot change behaviour, but it can significantly improve it. In most organisations there are some sort of knowledge sharing taking place. If motivated by the appropriate psychological tricker I truly believe, and can see proof of, that software can improve knowledge sharing.
