Simply Åsa the Knowledge Saver
At global Wikimania in Stockholm, Åsa Jensen Emås will be live scribing the three day conference with the theme “Stronger together: Wikimedia, Free Knowledge and the Sustainable Development Goals.”

Åsa, how would you describe yourself in 50 words?
Energetic, colourful and creative all-rounder dedicated to contribute to understanding, involvement development and involvement through visuals. I’m a dreamer and single-minded for the things I aim for and I never stop trying even though it’s outside my knowledge and comfort zone. I’m kind, helpful and regardful and I love to contribute to common goals.
Tell us a bit about your background?
My background is mainly within the logistic and recycling business where I have had different leadership and supporting roles over the last 30 years. Beside being a manager my challenges have often been about Change- and Process Management. Since a few years I’m also trained in project management and I’m a certified Change Lead, Coach and trainer for Leadership Development.
What do you do for a living?
Right now I work as a Change Lead in an ERP project and I work part time as a visual practitioner, visual trainer and facilitator.
Why and how did you start your visual practice?
It all started with a post on LinkedIn where a former colleague of mine posted some photos from a workshop on graphic facilitation she attended. Right when I saw it I just knew I had to start doing it. So I took the workshop and have not stopped doing it since then. It’s absolutely the perfect tool to be used anywhere. In school, in business, in projects, in family life etc.
Why are you volunteering to be part of the Knowledge Savers team at Wikimania?
To contribute to and support the great work Wiki is doing on sharing the open and free knowledge.
How will you add value to Wikimania participants and the open knowledge movement?
The value of seeing ”the big picture”, increase remembrance of the content and invite to engagement in sessions participants did not attend to.
