Hi,

Something I have been noticing recently is that extreme views on either the left or right result in similar behavior. Skinheads and PETA members both blow stuff up to punish those they consider wicked. It is as if the opposite of fascist is not communist, but rather “mainstream” thinking. As an example, imagine we consider Stalin, Hitler and Eisenhower to be individuals perceived as extreme left, right, and center. Most would agree that Stalin and Hitler were more like one another in behavior than either of them were like Eisenhower, and most centrist liberals and conservatives would rather have Eisenhower as a president than either of the other two. I really think the tendency of both parties to coerce centrists into siding with extremists in order to separate us is a serious problem. Perhaps, instead of viewing this as a straight line with extreme left and right as the poles, we should view it as a circle, on which movement to the extreme left or right puts you in the same spot — opposite of centrists.
