For the days when you don’t feel so good about yourself
We all have days like these. Days when getting out of the bed seems like the biggest struggle in the world. Days when you have this heavy feeling on your chest and you can’t really figure out why, but you just do.
I have days like this also. Sometimes days turn into weeks and you still can’t figure out what’s the reason. It’s seems everything is fine, but not great. And then you try to mask it by putting on a colorful lipstick, going out and celebrating life like you never did before.
But in the morning you still feel the same. Empty. Lost. Confused. Simply not good.
And the Internet with its “10 thousand million trillion ways to make yourself happy” isn’t helping you either. ‘Cause then you just start thinking that there’s something wrong with you just because you’re not sitting and smiling 24/7.
Guess what?
To feel not good is normal and people who say different are full of shit. Either they are lying or they live in some kind of ignorant bubble of their own, where they don’t see reality. And reality, well, it sometimes sucks. Reality is not all beautiful; sometimes it is sad, it is brutal. And because you’re a part of it, it is normal to feel sad, to feel bad about yourself and everything else. These are real, raw feelings that make you a part of life, not a fairy-tale.
The best part of it? This sadness, just like everything else in life, doesn’t last forever and ends. Yes, it’s a sad thought, but isn’t it also so comforting? You don’t need to be fake happy by trying out all the weird ways to cheer yourself up, because sometimes, all you need is just some time.
