India Shoots Down Facebook’s Free Basics Program

Yesterday I wrote a short post elaborating why Free Basics won’t necessarily threaten Net Neutrality. Those who believe it does, are not considering the role of Artificial Intelligence.
…in other words, those who oppose Free Basics are not against the idea of making the good part of internet (quote news, employment, health, education and local information) available to everyone for free.
They’re just worried about the way Facebook is going to determine which website fits into those categories and which website doesn’t. Which website should be freely accessible (costing nothing) and which website should be accessible via a paid data plan. It’s obviously difficult to do that.
