National Museum
Appreciation of Arts in my own country ♥

Love for butterflies. Preservation of butterflies as an art. I do have this love for butterflies that is why i have chosen this art to be on my most liked arts in the national museum. I like them because there are so beautiful and they symbolizes freedom.

I idolize Rizal as a revolutionary novelist and seeing this sculpture of his makes me think that he really is amazing. Mother’s revenge, a dog trying to save her helpless pup bitten by a crocodile. The mother dog represents “Philippines” and the patriots who are doing their best to save the defenseless countrymen (the pup)from the cruelty of the Spaniards as represented by the crocodile. Even with his sculpture’s you can see him as a revolutionist. Using art to symbolize the martyrdom and the exploitation of the colonizers.

The painting features a glimpse of Roman history centered on the bloody carnage brought by gladiatorial matches. This painting started to spread to the world that Filipino people are extraordinary artist. As I look at the painting, it reminds me of the movie “General Luna” where they tried to portray this painting in the scene of the martyrdom of Antonio Luna. Even though its a painting about Roman people, it was still somehow symbolizes the situation of the Filipinos back then.

The name of the sculpture says it all. Diwata, It represents feminism, beauty, love, faith and hope. Upon entering the first room in the national museum, this was the art that truly catches my attention. It was like an angel from above, helping everyone , asking god to grant us our prayers.

Modern art in the Philippines. Shades of colors. Green, Orange, Red. Green represents environment, Red and orange represents Fire. That was it looks for me. I wonder what was his emotions and situation when he was doing all this painting. All I can say by looking the paintings was it’s was really beautiful.

The Assassination of Governor General Fernando Manuel de Bustillo Bustamante by Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo. Aside from spolarium, this was also a award winning painting that every filipino can relate. Knowing the history of our country, the abusive ruling of the Spaniards. This artwork have been an inspiration for members of the Philippine reform movement that contributed to the freedom we have today.

Abstract Paintings. We can see the beauty of the painting by its implication or what it says. By looking at the painting, colors of black and white makes feel the sadness of the artist’s in making the painting. It was beautiful having its simplicity and color.
