Annie Wersching (born March 28, 1977 — died January 29, 2023) was an American actress best known for her role as FBI special agent Renee Walker on the American television series 24. She portrayed Susan Thompson in the Supernatural season 2 episode “Playthings”.

Actress Annie Wersching, best known for playing FBI agent Renee Walker in the series “24” and providing the voice for Tess in the video game “The Last of Us”, has died. She was 45 years old.

Annie Wershing died Sunday morning in Los Angeles after losing her battle with cancer, her publicist told The Associated Press. It is not yet known what type of cancer it was.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Wershing appeared in several television shows during her two-decade career.

Her first credit was in “Star Trek: Enterprise” and she would go on to have recurring roles in the seventh and eighth seasons of “24,” “Bosch,” “The Vampire Diaries,” Marvel’s “Runaways,” “The Rookie” and, most recently, Recently, there was a second season of “Star Trek: Picard” as the Borg Queen.

Neil Druckmann, who created “The Last of Us”, wrote on Twitter that “we have just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is broken. My thoughts are with his loved ones.”

Actor Abigail Spencer, who appeared with Wersching in the science-fiction series “Timeless”, tweeted, “We love you very much Annie Wersching. You will be greatly missed.”

She also provided the voice and motion capture performance for Tess for the popular video game “The Last of Us”.

According to Deadline, Wersching was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, and continued to work thereafter. She is survived by her husband, actor Stephen Full, and three sons. A GoFundMe page was set up on Sunday to support the family.
