Wow, thanks for sharing this Jack! I have struggled with mental illness for the majority of my life (depression, anxiety, eating disorder, ptsd, etc etc etc) and at this point my biggest struggle is massive long and short-term memory loss (my counselor wants me to see a cognitive neuropsychologist for brain imaging and cognitive function testing, but the wait is around 6 months and my insurance won’t cover it until after the $3000 deductible so that’s probably not gonna happen). I find that the things most important to maintaining my mental health are: going to bed on time and getting enough sleep every night (for me that’s around 9 hours), making sure that I keep my living space in order and clean, and having close friends/family who hold me accountable and who understand signs of depression.
