How to save on groceries during inflation

Inflation is at an all-time high in the UK. If you are living in any other country, even if inflation is not at an all-time high, it still happens every year. The prices of all consumer goods increase at about 5%–10% every year and thus make you spend more on the things you love to eat.

Buying groceries is a part of everyone’s daily lives. If you are living with your family or alone, you would be buying groceries every week. In the past few months you would have noticed that even if you stick to your grocery list every week or month, you would have observed an increase in your spending on groceries.

No matter how much the prices of food increase, no matter what the rate of increase in inflation is every year, food is something that you can’t cut down on. The Supermarkets strategically place the food items in the stores and put discounts on them and thus making sure that end up buying more than what you wanted.

There are very simple ways by which you can save on your groceries. First, here’s a backstory of how I learned this simple trick to save up on my groceries every week.

When I was small, by small I mean when I was in school, and when things had just started to make sense, I used to see my father write down every expense in a diary at the end of the day.
