Why Sikhs in Punjab are burning?

Sikh protesting against Desecration of Guru Granth Sahib

Recent protests by Sikhs around the world are eventually producing some results, A strong agitation against the current Akaali government of Punjab finally return a removal of the extra-judicial killer, Sumedh Saini, DGP of Punjab. A step which could have taken as preliminary before the current situation arose or at first, could not entrust a position of DGP to a killer. Moreover, there is a strong wave in Sikh Community as another criminal has taken the position of DGP, Suresh Arora, 1982 — IPS batch played the prominent role along with Sumedh Saini to wipe out Sikh Generation.

Sikhs around the globe are looking at the Punjab Sikhs, who had been neglected, enslaved and suppress by the government with every possible mean. So far it was either judicially, economically which could be a bearer to certain extend, however, desecration of Guru Granth Sahib — The Living Sikh Guru, is absolutely intolerable and unacceptable to any Sikh alive. Period.

Guru Granth Sahib is treated with the ultimate respect in the Sikh community. It is worth to mentioned that in every Gurdwara, Guru Granth Sahib has baldachin, whisk besom, throne and treated as living king of kings by Sikhs.

A Sikh whisk besom over Guru Granth Sahib

Desecration of Guru Granth Sahib bustle Sikh community around the world, it feels like someone slain your beloved’s heart and you are sitting behind, can’t do anything. The whole community is in a big shock and before even we get a minor relief there were more seven cases of desecration are reported immediate after bargadi, a village in Punjab.

In bargardi, Guru Granth Sahib was stolen in the month of June 2015. Local community raised their voice and register the complaint with local police station. Rupinder Singh and his brother Jaswinder Singh, both were known to keep the matter alive, there was no action until desecration happened or even after, by police.

A month before the Desecration, Pseudo Dera Chief, who did blasphemy act against Sikh Guru in 2007 had released his movie. Since 2007, 3 Sikhs were killed and many were injured during multiple clashes. Due to stress among Sikhs and Dera followers, the movie was banned in Punjab. Dera follower protest and blocked the rail without any intervened by the government. Dera chief is suspected in many cases and had been booked against sexual acts, Murder and blamed to force 400 followers to undergo castration against his own followers. however due to his influence in the political seats he is spared by the government.

A letter of threat was sent to the local community by the unknown follower of Dera, in letter threat to Sikh community to rip off stolen Guru Granth Sahib if Dera chief movie will not release in Punjab, That was a red alert. However, government keep hush on it.

Meanwhile, Sikh highest authority, Jathedar of Akaal Takht issue pardon to Dera Chief with the unusual method and unexpected. The Pardon was unwelcomed all around the world by Sikhs and led to warmth against the Jathedar and SGPC. Sikh intellect concluded that decision has the political influence and is against the will of Sikh community.

On, Oct 11, 2015, Guru Granth Sahib was ripped off and thrown around the village on the road. It was the same Guru Granth Sahib which was stolen 4 months ago. Every Sikh was heartful and deeply sadden over this act, massive peaceful protests started by the Sikhs in Punjab. Sikh went on reciting ‘waheguru’ to block the roads and sat down on the highway to protest. Protest spread across the Punjab within a few hours, police used baton and water cannon to disperse people.

On, Oct 13, 2015, along with other means, without any warning, police open firing with AK47 on peaceful protested Sikh and killed two and more than 100 were injured, That ignite the issue further and leave the community with two Martyrs, Kishan Singh and Gurjit Singh.

It is worth to mentioned that government used the same method again to shut the community to raise their voice against the atrocities, Jasjit Singh and Jaspal Singh were recently killed by police with AK47 and not even the FIR was registered.

What happened next put every Sikh to think about a sovereign homeland for Sikhs, Sikhs went through all this struggle and pain to stop the blasphemy act against their sacred belief, However, Punjab police arrested Rupinder Singh and his brother Jaswinder Singh over the conspiracy of Guru Granth Sahib, reported Rupinder Singh’s backbone was broken during the protest and he was active since the beginning of missing Guru Granth Sahib. That was unacceptable by every individual Sikh. Punjab police reveal the taped phone call between Sikhs in Australia and Dubai, They claimed that conspiracy was done to disturb the Punjab peaceful environment and also blame that it could relate with ISI or Pakistan.

Sikh abroad responded to the call and Sukhjit Singh, one of the conspirant as per police reveal his identity. He went on air with local radio to explain what happened. He actually wanted to send the money to Rupinder Singh for his treatment and asked Rupinder Singh couple question about the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib during his conversation, which police presented in discrete clips.

The Government had evidence related to Dera however they haven’t made any arrest, Killer of Kishan Singh and Gurjit Singh are yet not arrested too. Government policies are against Sikh Community, recently DIG Amritsar release a statement to threat Sikhs on PTC news, who are using the social media to reveal the truth. All SGPC, SAD and PTC news are boycott worldwide by Sikhs. some of them were humiliated in Public and some resign from their post.

Another Sikh, Nihung Puran Singh met his fate due to the heart attack during the protest. It is valued to relate at the same time in Punjab, 15 farmer committed suicide due to Government policies.

Until now most of prominent Sikh organization are on the road to protest the desecration of the Guru Granth Sahib and asking Government to take the right decision to arrest and punish the culprit, instead blaming on other countries and Sikh themselves.
