Living a Detail-Oriented Life

Detail-oriented. When I look at the list from Forbes Magazine of what skills recruiters are looking for, this is the trait that I feel like I can relate to the most. I have always considered myself to be a meticulous person and I apply that to everything I do: work, school, my personal life, etc.

When studying for a quiz or test, I always make sure that I know the small details and ideas behind the big concepts. I also always try to learn every detailed step and notation behind processes because I can’t stand not fully understanding.

I apply this to my personal life as well. I wouldn’t necessarily describe myself as being OCD, but I do pay attention to all of the little things that I see, hear, or learn about. I’ll also spend a lot of time focusing my energy into making sure that the detailed things in my life are as good as they can be. I don’t like to overlook anything.

Overall, I am very observant and I like understanding every aspect of what I am doing or being taught. I will almost always notice if something is wrong or out of place, no matter how small. I will also always strive to make sure that those small things get fixed and are as perfected as possible.

It can sometimes be overwhelming to have such an eye for detail, but it is also very helpful. Being detail-oriented is one of the core traits of my personality and is a skill that has gotten me to where I am today.
