Directed by French director Luc Besson, Anna’s film has started to air regularly on Tuesday (06/25/2019) in the cinema.
Anna is the first Russian model debut, Sasha Luss as the main actor in this film, after starring in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets in 2017.
Acting as Anna Poliatova, a Russian model who turned out to be a member of the KGB, one of the intelligence agencies in the Soviet Union who longed for her freedom, Sasha Luss can be said to have a very good role in this film.
The presence of supporting characters played by actor Cillian Murphy, Luke Evans and actress Helen Mirren also made this film even more tense.
There is nothing interesting about taking pictures, effects or backsounds from this film apart from the story that indeed looks mature written. The challenge is how to enjoy this film with three things that might make people uncomfortable when watching this film.
Three things mentioned include a lot of sex scenes, blood and back and forth grooves that might make the audience nervous when watching.
As a supermodel who is also an agent of an intelligence agency, it seems that Anna is unlikely to be in contact with sex and blood, plus a back and forth flow that at first glance seems very disturbing, but that’s how this story should be packaged.
When watching the trailer, many people are deceived by Anna’s actual background. Even though the answer can only be obtained after watching the film.
Bllge Eblrl’s critic from the New York Times also mentioned that Luc was very smart in putting minor scenes into a very crucial twist in the next plot.
However, some critics also left unpleasant comments, finding the film director as if he had not innovated with his character since some of his earlier films.
“The gun game at Anna is repetitive and very long, and the main cast that never loses is the old character Luc can offer,” said David Ehrllch from IndieWire.
