Recently, law enforcement has concentrated its efforts on capturing the person responsible for the heinous assassination of journalist Nasrullah Gadani. As a result, it is considered by many as a big step towards making sure that justice is served for his untimely death as he was known for his dedication in writing for one Sindhi newspaper who was just butchered somewhere around Korai Goth. The prompt arrest of three suspects demonstrates the dedication that authorities have to capturing the perpetrators of such heinous crimes.

Gadani’s death touched not only his family and his community where he lived but also the whole media world. Moreover there was a joint demonstration against killing close to the Karachi Press Club which showed that people from all walks hate bloodshed and really need immediate action for any grievances. At the demonstration, activists from various groups such as the National Trade Union Federation and the Home-Based Women Workers Federation called for justice following the murder of journalists in Gadani.

Despite the numerous requests for equity, some call for a sweeping change in society which is deeply felt. The objectives of the demonstrators are not simply to catch culprits but also to safeguard journalists, plus deal with feudalism’s imperfections and social disparities. To make sure reporters are safe and free, as well as prevent political parties from hiding people who threaten democracy, people are urging the government to consider making policies that protect journalists at the same time shield them against dictatorship.

In addition, the demonstration participants’ demand for resources to support Gadani’s kids, highlights the practical implications of the violent act. It stresses not only on seeking justice but also offering actual help to these bereaved families. Moreover, asking for modifications and redistribution of land in agriculture shows a wider yearning for justice and feelings of impartiality aimed at bringing down the existing systems of privilege and enabling marginalized communities.

In order to honor the memory of Nasrullah Gadani, it is crucial that we attend to what is being said by those who took to streets demanding justice and reforms. It is not just about punishing those who killed him; instead, there has to be an effort made towards addressing why they acted so brutally and making efforts towards a future that is just for all including the social safety of journalists and ensuring everyone lives without any form of fear or being persecuted.
