Visit Samaria Gorge by Car

The Samaria gorge is a famous tourist attraction and a unique national park located in the prefecture of Chania.

The Samaria gorge was created by a river running between the Lefka Ori (white mountains). Samaria gorge is approximately 16 km long, starting at an altitude of 1,250 m at the northern entrance, and ending at the sea and the village of Agia Roumeli. In Samaria, there is also a small village just inside the gorge. It was abandoned by its last inhabitants (1962).
