Day 3
Settling
I’m awoken by the sound of the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. I turn my head to see my husband stuck at the apex of his breath. Again. He finally exhales.
The picture on the nightstand of us on our wedding day vibrates with each thunderous snore. Any more, I never sleep through the night.
The bright sun has set on my dreams of Broadway and NYC. No more auditions, agents, or green room parties. Now it’s sippy cups, diapers, and laundry. My life is stuck in the apex of my past, struggling for air. Except, my exhale never comes.
