How to bridge assets to Arbitrum testnet
What is Arbitrum?
Arbitrum is a layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum that speeds up the transactions and lowers gas fees. The protocol behind this is called Rollup. Transactions are mainly processed on the second layer and the data is stored
on the main Ethereum chain. This improves speed significantly.
Why Arbitrum is interesting?
- Scalability— much higher throughput
- Low fees — pretty cheap when compared with L1
- Trustless security — security depends on Ethereum, which is excellent
- Compatability — full support for the EVM. No changes are needed to port from Ethereum to Arbitrum.
How to bridge Ethereum assets to Arbitrum testnet?
2. If you need ETH, get one from Rinkeby Faucet.
3. Let’s bridge! Make sure you are on Rinkeby Test Network to deposit to L2 and Arbitrum Testnet Rinkeby to withdraw to L1.
Note: withdrawal to L1 takes at least 7 days*
That’s it! You can now play with Arbitrum testnet 🎉.
