Reasons Why Creativity Matters

Basically, everyone has a sense of creativity. When you were a child, you had a freedom to do more experimental things that build your creativity such as drawing, crafting handmade toys, and playing natural imaginative games such as cooking, car driving, and dolls. As you are older, your career demands you to do a lot of rule-based tasks that give you less chances to do intuitive activities. The problem is when you are getting used to a rigid system, your mind tells you that you are doing the right thing, so you feel like having no obligation to go extra miles. Thus, your creativity begins to dim. What happen to those who lost their sense of creativity? They grow old like robots; so serious, no sense of humor, and have a static life. Robots are great doers, but are they fun to share a life with? As a human, you are designed to be dynamic. Being dynamic means you can be impulsive sometimes, but you are also great in improvising and making others’ life more colorful. In short, creativity makes you more dynamic.

Creativity can be in the form of many things such as humor, music, art, strategy, media, fashion, etc. Someone who knows how to make others laugh is a creative person as he is able to alter the way people see something into a humor. Making a joke isn’t as easy as talking. It takes creativity to play with words. Playing is the key of how a person become creative. As an adult, you might think playing is such a waste of time, but it’s actually not. It really depends on what kind of game are you playing. The game refers to an activity that challenges your mind and intuition to create a brand new thing. For example, recycling soda cans by turning it into containers to grow the plants. Take some other examples; a chef decorates the plate with artistic sauce splash to make the dish look more enticing, a musician makes a jazz version of a pop song, a marketer makes funny memes on instagram to get a crowd, and a guy turns his old jeans into nowadays popular ripped jeans. It’s all about thinking extraordinarily. You don’t need to be an artist to be creative. All you need to do is enhancing the creativity you have ever since you are a child. Creativity helps you to flexibly find hundreds of alternatives to solve a problem. Therefore, start being creative in every aspect of your life and you will see that your life becomes better.
