Remembering the Patient…

Though we were asked to cast metaphorical curses upon our oppressors, we felt the attention and concern should remain with the patient and the protection of their health needs for this particular ceremony. However, we cannot speak to the nature of future ceremonies…

Today a tweet from State Representative Greg Razer (D-KC) caught the attention of the Ordo, wherein Rep. Razer registered his complaint with Don Hinkle’s (Public Policy Dir. Missouri Baptist Convention) recent anti-MONA religious rant blog in (Hinkle’s) Pathway publication.

We are aware of another hearing in which Mr. Hinkle practiced his yellow journalism; the Missouri House hearing for HB728. On that occasion it was Mr. Brian Kaylor, a distinguished author and well-known figure in the Baptist community who was the victim of Hinkle’s mischaracterizations on a Facebook post.

Don’s tirade:

Mr. Kaylor is the Editor and…

A Game of “Jefferson City Squares?”

The Lineup, Senate Committee for HB 728 — Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Jurisprudence

It was surreal.

On Monday, May 6, 2019, I went to a Missouri Senate hearing in Jefferson City, held by the Committee on the Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Jurisprudence.

It started out normally enough. First, the committee went into executive session and haggled over a couple of bills. Then it went into public session and heard testimony for a couple of other bills.

I had come for the last item on the agenda: HB 728, originally introduced in the House by Representative Hardy Billington (R-152) from Poplar Bluff, near the Bootheel. …

House Republicans Target the Ordo Sororitatis Satanicae

The Ordo Sororitatis Satanicae (OSS) has been receiving messages for details on how all this Missouri Capitol trouble started. We’re up-front but a little exhausted, so we take to our blog for the necessary update.

Note: to keep our blood pressure at acceptable levels, this briefing will include therapeutic fun references and screenshots. Enjoy…

The Ordo made a total of three House Floor requests in 2018; all were rejected with ambiguous Rule 19 cited in response. Though we pushed for further clarification on how to become Missouri House Guest Chaplains, those detail specific…

Silencing Through Policy Change in Missouri

Do legislators let their irrational fears affect policy?

In Missouri — Yes.

In the 2019 session, one of the first bills considered was HR 7, mostly a routine update to internal House rules. It was reported out of committee on January 10 and taken up by the full house on January 15. Unfortunately, there is no audio or video recording of the debate; votes on amendments were often taken by voice, without a roll call. Hence the proceedings are largely invisible to the public, apart from the few who could watch from the gallery.

Representative Greg Razer (D-025, Kansas City) introduced an…

A Satanic Hysterics Panic

Yesteryear “Hysterical Woman” in an ad for “Lydia E. Pinkham’s Vegetable Compound Tablet Form”

Lucien Greaves of The Satanic Temple elegantly displayed his gaslighting skills in his recent recounting of Mary Doe, his own plaintiff from the Temple’s Missouri religious reproductive rights cases. Greaves employed his typical stance to former members criticisms as he once again pled the “hysterical women” defense in ‘The Savage Saga of Mary Doe’, shaming and demonizing womankind to substantiate his innocence. With his latest missive Greaves didn’t just take a jab at his former plaintiff Mary or his former National Council member and St. Louis Chapter heads, he’s also taken a swipe at those who’ve…

Demonization of Reproductive Rights Activists in Missouri

Cassandra issued her forewarnings… cursed, no one ever listened.

It saddens us today to read Mr. Greaves’ portrayal of Mary Doe’s Saga as a savage one. Immediately following the end of this case, he chose to portray both Mary and those in Missouri that thought we were on Mary’s side as hysterical. She’s a real person that needed the Satanic Temple to be in her corner, not just use her as a pawn in a lawsuit they wanted with or without her. Now they no longer need her as a place holder for their lawsuit, they write about her like she was…

Reproductive Rights in Missouri

The Ordo Sororitatis Satanicae has undertaken Three Great Acts: to Witness, to Measure, and to Pronounce. Today, Mary Doe from The Satanic Temple’s reproductive rights campaign contacted our order to inform the OSS that her case was dismissed as of today, but not before she herself withdrew from the case. Or rather, attempted to.

Curiously, on February 6th, 2019 Mary Doe informed TST’s attorney that she no longer wanted any part of the case and was seeking to officially withdraw as plaintiff, one week later… the case was dismissed.

Being that our co-founder worked closely with Mary personally during this…

Opinion, and nod to frozen peaches…

Since Yiannopoulos began his big American extravaganza as a “political pundit”, his supporters have claimed: Denying Milo Yiannopoulos a formal lecture platform on university campuses is an affront to his free speech rights. Or something along those lines. The very definition of entitlement: to insist our First Amendment somehow translates to guaranteed speaking engagements at universities.

My understanding? The university formal guest lecture arena is typically for:

  • voices lacking a platform
  • to introduce and engage in new thought deserving of further rational inquiry
  • which are currently receiving very little attention or recognition
  • for the purpose of potential elevation and public awareness and/or research & further…

In order to ensure patients receive quality care, we ask two Columbia hospitals how they can deny admitting privileges to Planned Parenthood Columbia Health Center’s physicians and still claim to be honoring the Hippocratic Oath. Their refusal puts the reproductive health of Missouri citizens at risk, by placing severe burdens on patients seeking legal healthcare procedures.
