How to generate Sitemap in WordPress?
What is Sitemap?
A sitemap is a list of web pages accessible to crawlers or users. A web page that displays on a website, typically organized in hierarchical fashion.

What is an XML Sitemap?
An XML sitemap helps website owners to tell search engines about all the pages that exist on their site. It also tells search engines like Google
- Which links on your site are more important than others and how often you update your website.
- While sitemaps do not boost your search rankings, it allows search engines to crawl your site better.
XML sitemap can be used in both Commonly Used SEO plugin like Yoast and All in One SEO Plugin.
If you use Yoast SEO, you just need to find the appropriate plugin setting to set up your XML sitemap.
Generating a Sitemap in Yoast SEO Plugin:
- Login to Your Dashboard.
- Install and Activate Yoast SEO Plugin
- With Yoast SEO plugin, navigate to SEO -> XML Sitemaps
- Enable XML Sitemap Functionality
In this settings, you can enter the maximum number of entries per sitemap page (defaults to 1000, you might want to lower this to prevent memory issues on some installs)

If you don’t have any of the plugin mentioned above, you can easily create using Google XML Sitemaps plugin.

Most of the companies will not take more risk of generating the sitemap for a site, but SEO companies will take care of this sitemap to make it easier for the user to navigate between the pages.
