Cashew fig Shake

One of the new trends in the food world has been soaking and sprouting the nuts and grains to better absorb their nutrients. The phytic acid in the nuts puts a major halt from enjoying all the glory goodness in the nuts. Soaking the nuts for a period of 6 to 7 hrs takes care of this problem. Plus nuts are much easier to work with when their soaked!

Soak cashews nuts over night and dried figs for about 4 hours. This ensures that you end up with really creamy drink.

Ingredients

Figs: 8

Cashews: 10

Almond milk/ Coconut Milk: 2 cup

Honey: 2 tbs

Cacao Powder: ½ tsp

Instructions

  1. Add the soaked nuts, figs and honey to a blender along with ½ a cup of the milk and grind it to a smooth paste. This is so that adding all the milk would make it difficult to grind smoothly.
  2. Add rest of the milk and blend well.
  3. Pour the milkshake into glasses and sprinkle some raw cacao on top. Enjoy!
